Different Forms of Domestic Violence
Economic Abuse - Financial abuse is a form of domestic abuse, wherein a partner tries to control the freedom and access to help of the victim by stopping or limiting their access to money and other resources.
Intimidation - A partner or spouse can resort to intimidation and threats. Here, they may abuse a household pet, make threatening gestures, wield weapons, destroy properties and more.
Isolation - In this case, the abuser may try to isolate the victim by refusing the partner to meet outsiders or even the parents. He/she may also react jealously towards any outside interest that the victim may try to pursue.
Emotional Abuse - Humiliation or emotional abuse is when the partner may try to make the victim feel that they have no worth, call them names and criticize them all the time.
Physical Abuse - In this form of domestic abuse, the partner may choke, restrain, shake, shove, hit or punch the victim. The abusive person may even use a weapon to harm or inflict pain to the victim.
